CAPD Bootcamp

Overview:

The University of Kentucky CAPD Bootcamp is an intensive, evidence-based educational program designed for audiologists seeking practical, clinically relevant training in the assessment and management of Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD).

Over two and a half days, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of current best practices through lectures, case-based discussions, and hands-on clinical applications. Faculty will guide attendees through the selection, administration, interpretation, and integration of behavioral and electrophysiologic assessments, while exploring differential diagnosis, report writing, and individualized treatment planning.

Whether you are establishing a CAPD program or refining an existing clinical practice, this bootcamp provides the tools, confidence, and clinical reasoning needed to deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care.

Participants will learn how to:

• Select and administer appropriate, evidence based CAPD test batteries.
• Interpret test results using current evidence and clinical guidelines.
• Differentiate CAPD from other auditory, cognitive, and language disorders.
• Develop individualized management and intervention plans.
• Apply clinical decision-making through real-world case studies.
• Implement best practices that can be immediately translated into clinical care.

Registration Fees

Registration includes full access to the first two days of the CAPD Bootcamp, featuring expert-led lectures, evidence-based clinical instruction, course materials, and continuing education (CEUs).

For participants seeking additional hands-on experience, an optional half-day Practical Session will be offered on Saturday morning for an additional registration fee. This small-group session provides the opportunity to apply concepts learned during the bootcamp through guided demonstrations, clinical practice, and interactive instruction with faculty.

Registration Options

• Thursday & Friday Bootcamp: Includes all lectures, educational materials, CEUs, breakfast, lunch and Thursday evening dinner.
• Saturday Practical Session (Optional Add-On): Hands-on clinical training available for an additional fee. Space is limited and advance registration is required.

Hotel Availability: Hotel availability in Lexington will be limited due to a University of Kentucky home football game and the Keeneland Fall Meet. We strongly encourage attendees to make hotel reservations as early as possible to secure accommodations.
